Trust Signals to Search for In an Insurance Company

When you think about insurance companies, the word “trust” immediately comes to mind. After all, this establishment is meant to provide us with secure futures, to make sure that we get through life as stably and peacefully as possible (check this out). Since we let them take care of our tomorrow, we are without doubt placing our deepest trust in them.

So what happens when the insurance company you believed will make you feel safe and secure throughout life becomes exactly what threatens your security? To be more specific, what if it endangers your data privacy?

Of course, you will probably feel very alarmed. When you sign up for a policy, insurance brokers often make you fill out elaborate forms as proof of your identity. You give sensitive information about yourself, such as your name, birth date, address, family members, etc.

If you’re paying in installments (which is pretty common among insurance providers), you are often asked for your bank details as well. While having your premiums automatically charged to your credit or debit card following a predetermined payment schedule (monthly, bi-annually, annually, etc.) is certainly convenient, you still run the risk of leaking this information out to bad people.

Identity theft online is no joking matter, after all.

What do insurance companies have to do with any of this? Well, for a fact, most (if not all) insurance brokers and agencies store their company and clientele’s data online. It’s common for companies and establishments to utilize online storage systems in this day and age, you see. There is absolutely no fault in that. The only thing that you should be wary about is whether they’re careful about how they store your information online.

If an agency is careless, its database can be infiltrated or “hacked” by hacking experts. There are far too many people who know way too much about jail breaking and code breaking, after all. Personal data, when left in the wrong hands, may be misused and abused. If you’re getting a policy for yourself or for a family member, it is best that you make sure to place your trust in the right agency – one that feels highly responsible for keeping your personal data private.

Some agencies would settle for half-assed security systems just because they’re cheaper. They don’t invest in proficient systems that would double or triple the current security their database has just because it’s going to cost them more. You don’t want to contract with an agency like this. If you’re going to entrust someone or something with your future, then you might as well make sure that they are truly worthy of your trust. Just imagine all the hassle it’ll bring if you’re not being cautious enough!

To help you get started with your thorough search, here are a couple of things you should look for in insurance companies. We call them “trust signals” because they’re positive signs that you’re moving in the right direction. Follow these tips and you earn a better chance at finding the right software company insurance.

Trust Signals to Search for In an Insurance Company

#1. They’ve Got Good Online Authority

Of course, any good agency will make considerable noise online. You just can’t seem to stop satisfied clients from expressing their delight in receiving such good service, after all. When an agency is as good as they claim to be, it will always reflect in their online reputation. In other words, they are most likely to have substantial online authority. But what is online authority exactly?

You see, when websites are trusted and well-visited by users, it will show in their page rank. In the online world, you have the DA and PA (Domain and Page Authority) to tell you whether a website is real and authentic. Scoring high in these numbers is a telltale sign that you’re dealing with a good website, run by great people.

#2. They’re Not Listed In Any Scam List

If you don’t want to be a victim of your own ignorance, the first thing you need to do before you engage in business talks with other companies is to make sure that they are legitimate. In other words, they’re no fancy-shmancy, make-believe websites put up by fraudulent tricksters.

Website reviews will almost always tell you which agencies have credible domains and which ones don’t. They look into many factors before they can make a final say. They check the traffic that goes to and from the website; they look at the date of inception. Also, they check for the validity of the owner’s existence in the real world.

If you don’t want to regret your decisions later on, make sure that your agency is cleared off major scam listings. Trust me; it’s for your own good.

#3. They Use A Cloud-Based System

Lastly, other than getting your insurance data hacked, the last thing you want to happen is to lose it forever. This is why you should always opt for insurance agencies that operate using a cloud-based system. This means that they use Cloud for storage which is, by far, the most secure way of keeping your data online.
