Many marketers like Amazon are turning towards Affiliate marketing to market their products/services by offering Amazon affiliate commission. Amazon offers attractive options to make money with Amazon affiliate programs.
When you join the Amazon affiliate program, you have to generate leads and lead people who are visiting your site to buy products sold on Amazon.
What is Affiliate Marketing?
If you’re new to the game of Amazon Associates program or Affiliate Marketing, check out Affiliate Marketing for Beginners here. In a nutshell – Affiliates create links to an Amazon product that has your unique track code embedded in it.
Whenever a visitor to your blog clicks on this Amazon Affiliate link and makes a purchase on Amazon, you get a commission.
Smart affiliate marketers need to use slick strategies, while also following important Amazon affiliate do’s and don’ts etc.
Who doesn’t want to make explosive commissions with Amazon affiliate program? If you are part of the amazon affiliate program, you’re well aware that conversion rates mean a lot.
Here are some tactics and strategies to help you earn more commissions from Amazon Affiliate marketing programs.
Some of the strategies I’m suggesting for those who have become an Amazon associate are simple hacks that you can do on page with your amazon affiliate sites, whereas others involve the bigger picture.
The Strategy for Increasing Amazon Affiliate Referral Fees Basically Involves
- Increasing traffic to your site
- Increasing conversions from current traffic
#1. Listen to Your Visitors
It’s a strategy that works like a charm for increasing Amazon affiliate earnings. Listen to your visitors and find out what they really want.
Hint: If you’re writing a post on Quick Mini Desserts and you get comments about the bowls or the cups you use, be quick on the uptake. You can add affiliate links and sell these cups available on Amazon. Take guidance from your readers.

Quiz the visitors on your site to know the kind of product that would be tailored for them. You can set up a question box that queries them about problems and then move on to their personal choices.
At the end of the quiz, the quiz takes them to a suitable landing page offering a personalized product, which is an Amazon affiliate link, depending on their answers. Believe me, it works towards more conversions and thereby more commissions.
#2. Identify Buying Keywords/Long Tailed Keywords
Most of your traffic is organic and comes as a result of Google search. So if you have an Amazon affiliate account, you need to focus on visitors who are actually interested in buying the Amazon product marketed through your site.
- Use Buyer keywords for Affiliate Marketing Tactics
- When creating content, target it towards ‘buying keywords’. What’s this? I’ll just give you a skeleton of what a buyer’s keywords would consist of:
- What kind of or Best + Product/Service name + should I buy/get
To explain this better, if someone is looking to buy a bathroom faucet, the buying keywords would be:
Best bathroom faucet/What kind of bathroom faucet should I buy/get
- Use Long tail keywords while trying to make money on Amazon. Check out the ‘searches related to’ section at the bottom of search results while looking for them.
Use these keywords while searching with tools and bring up several combinations.
#3. Where to Link?
For instance, if you are a food blogger, you know that hardly anyone reads the post or text that you spent days perfecting. Sad but true!! They just jump right ahead to the ingredients and the main recipe. If you’re crazy about King Arthur flour for your cakes, go ahead and link it up in the ingredients list part of your article.
Check out the portion of the content where people possibly spend more time viewing and link that part of the content.
#4. Thinking Beyond Text Links
Granted that text links are the pillars of your affiliate revenue, but you need to think of adding more links when you create an affiliate website. How about linking Amazon products to sidebar widgets?
How to make money on Amazon? You could also create additional pages on your blog showcasing Amazon products. For instance, you can create a comparison table offering different metrics for viewers to sort by. You can collect the data from Amazon’s bestseller lists and build the table using a plugin. Visitors can decide on the product that is suitable for them before clicking on your link and heading over to Amazon.
#5. Focused Content
Consider creating content that is more focused on your Amazon affiliate program. For instance, offer a guide on Christmas gifts during the season. The post offers value to readers, as it gives them ideas for gifts. But you can also increase your affiliate commissions with the click through.
Of course, such content may not be suitable for all blogs and don’t by any means overkill the idea.
I earned the best commissions last year during the months I published content focused on Amazon affiliates.
#6. Use a 90 Day Cookie
The normal Amazon affiliates link allows a period of 24 hours for purchases that bring you a commission. For instance, if a visitor to your blog clicks on the link in your pages and orders ANYTHING from Amazon within 24 hours, you get a commission.
But in case the customer doesn’t immediately make a purchase, and simply adds it to his cart, there’s an extension to 90 days. If he makes a purchase within 90 days, you get your commission.
So how do you get visitors to add the product to their cart? You can use plugins to do this and add Amazon Associates 90 day cookie to your site.
Wrap Up
A strong strategy for your Amazon affiliate program is an important aspect of your blog monetization.
Amazon offers an amazing affiliate program, with most people ordering from this platform. I too get packages from Amazon several times a month, so why not make a good kickback when Amazon does?
Check out these strategies and see which one works best for you, as each niche is different. You could double or even triple your current Amazon sales.
